PMDG 747X

Post by Bees Knees » Thu Nov 14, 2013 3:30 pm

Hi, I have noticed when flying the PMDG 747x using VRoute's fuel calculation that on average their is a shortfall of about 9 tons of fuel.

I see there is a similar subject in the "fuel mania" forum and wondered if anything got sorted out from that topic.

Look forward to replies.

Many thanks.

Bryan.

Bryan,

I am happy to adjust the calculation results. I just need well-documented measurements. Can you fly some long distance route and write down vroute's forecast vs actual fuel remaining at each waypoint? Flight progress card can help you with this.

Please make sure your winds aloft parameter (see Configuration) is set properly.

Thanks for the reply Michal. I will certainly try some test flights, I assume when you mention winds aloft you need the configuration set to "REALISTIC"?

"Just like in real life". Requires third party add-on to your simulator.

Ok, OpusFSX should fit the bill nicely.

Depends if OpusFSX provides your sim with winds aloft :)

Michał
It does, would it be best to set OPUS to use Vatsim weather or NOAA?

VATSIM does not have winds aloft, and vroute uses NOAA as it's source. So NOAA sounds like the right choice.
