How to switch ATC booking to VATBOOK

Postby Michal Rok » Sun May 14, 2006 8:11 pm

It's simple. If you have any software that makes bookings to current Eurobook (hosted on geardown.de), you just need to edit the source files and replace the booking URL.

The main URL for current Eurobook is http://www.geardown.de/EUbooking/, which you need to replace with http://vatbook.euroutepro.com/atc/. That's all. The interface is identical, no other changes have to be made.

For example, if you use Romain Riviere's phpBooking, in the file atc.php you will find a line that says:

# Eurobook communication
$url = "http://www.geardown.de/EUbooking/delete.asp?Local_URL=http://www.pl-vacc.org/pol3/admin/eu_del.php&EU_ID=$euid&Local_ID=$localid";

All you have to do is replace it with:

# VATBOOK communication
$url = "http://vatbook.euroutepro.com/atc/delete.asp?Local_URL=http://www.pl-vacc.org/pol3/admin/eu_del.php&EU_ID=$euid&Local_ID=$localid";

Please note the part about pl-vacc.org URL in the above quote is of course specific to PL-VACC. Your URL will be slightly different, but you only need to replace the "www.geardown.de/eubooking" part with "vatbook.euroutepro.com/atc". Also note that this URL will typically exist in your software in more than one place, and you need to replace all occurences.

Is there any ATC Booking Overview page, as we used to have under the old domain?

Clarification, after Registering ;)

The page I was thinking of is:
http://www.geardown.de/EUbooking/active.asp

Hi Hans,

At the moment there is no such page. I never used the booking overview page myself - except for first couple weeks before ServInfo became compatible with eurobook. Do you think people would need it nowadays?

Yes. It is in a link within our booking system to allow people not wanting to startup servinfo to see the bookings.

Hi there!

Isn't it easier and better to integrate into your websites, if you just readout the STATUS-file and display the ATC-bookings of your VACC?

Cheers, Andreas

Andreas,

Not really.
Your suggestion limit the displayed data to your own VACC's booking, whilst the "old page" gave you a total overview over ALL booked ATC positions :roll:

But, if Romain is already working on the code, this may find another solution in the future (e.g. an update from Romain's old php-code?).

Hi Hans!

Ok, and I thought the status-file includes all bookings, or am I just using the wrong name for it? The booking-data that you request via ServInfo's EUROBOOK-button is complete, isn't it?

Andreas,

Sorry for delay, have been away on business.

Yes, ServInfo's Eurobook button should include ALL data. What I was refering to was a page similar to the old webpage used by geardown.ge (daily/weekly booking overview), as you could access this page without having to start another application, besides IE that is :roll:

Ok, and what about downloading that status-file and display the data? Shouldn't be too hard!?

@Michal: What do you think, should we offer this as well? I have to admit that I personally have almost never used the webdisplay for the ATC-forecast because ServInfo did it much better.

Hi guys!

Portugal is also using VATBook as of today.
Let me know when and if flight bookings also migrate to the new server.

Hi Pedro,

nice to see you at VATBOOK as well ;)

As far as I understand, flights selected in Michal's EUroute already get inserted into that file already, automatically.
